Third Basque Rugby Fives (Doubles) Championship

The RFA is delighted to report the latest in a series of competitions held in the Basque Country: the third Basque Rugby Fives Doubles Championship was played on 7th August on the squash court of the San Ignazio municipal sports centre in Bilbao, Spain.
Three pairs participated:
1: Egoitz Campo/ Joseba Fernández
2: David Cea/ Mikel Torde
3: Lander Campo/ Luis Getxo
There was a semi-final between the second and third-seeded pairs, and then a final between the winner of that match and the top seeds – each match being played as a single game to 25 points! Newcomer David Cea played very well in both games, and offered a stern challenge to the current doubles champion Egoitz Campo and his new doubles partner Joseba Fernandez
