St Paul’s School, Barnes
Sunday, 8th March 2026
37 players, from 8 schools, competed in this year’s championships: Alleyn’s, Berkhamsted, Bloxham, City of London, Goodrich Primary, Merchiston Castle, Stoke Newington and UCS.
The defending champion from Berkhamsted retained his title and then did the same in the Doubles with a new partner; in the Doubles it was an all-Berkhamsted final. Silver went to Stoke Newington in the Singles final. And both plates were won by players from Bloxham.
Third/fourth place matches were played in both the knock-0ut competition and the plate, and in both Singles and Doubles, with further success for Berkhamsted in the Singles and a much appreciated win for a pair from UCS in the Doubles. UCS entered a squad for the first time for some 20 years.
The RFA’s thanks go to host school, St Paul’s, to staff and friends who supported the players, to the young players themselves who played with customary enthusiasm, and to organiser Sam Roberts for running such a busy and enjoyable day’s competition.
