Emrys Thursfield

Emrys is one of those last players to emerge from Merchant Taylors’ School before the block of courts there was demolished. He went on to Cambridge University, where he was selected for the Varsity Match as a freshman and went on to captain the Men’s side in 2021-2022. He won the prestigious RFA President’s Cup with Tim Hebblethwaite in 2021. Encouraged by this success Emrys entered more regional tournaments and in April 2022 made it to the final of the National Mixed Doubles Championships with fellow Cantabridgian Savanna Leboff, then in November 2023 won Silver in the British Universities Doubles with Marcus Cloke Browne.
