Joe Sumner learned his Fives at Bedford Modern School and went on to play with the Edward Alleyn Fives Club in Dulwich while studying Medicine at King’s College, London. A right-hander, his favourite courts are those at Bedford Modern, on which he twice won the Midlands Schools Open Singles and Doubles titles; his favourite event is the National U25s Championship at Oundle, where he has enjoyed success in the Doubles Plate; his favourite player is Dan Tristao. In 2022 Joe achieved his first senior title: the South East Doubles at Christ’s Hospital, partnering Nick Woolfenden.
