Simon Beattie

Simon was one of the founding members of the City of Durham Fives Club, learning the game with his friend and rival Oscar McIntyre. Together they came to prominence in the National Schools Championships, and have now moved on to university. Simon is at Nottingham University and playing his Fives with the Derby Moor Fives Club, enjoying regular tussles with Lewis Keates and learning the skills of Doubles play with Anthony Goodwin, Bally Singh, Richard Christie and Stuart Kirby. In the 2022-23 season this paid off: Simon won the Lady’s Cup with fellow Durham club member Eleonora Vallascas and the Challenger Singles tournament at Oundle School. [November 2023]
