New champions at the National Open Mixed Doubles

STOP PRESS 9 pairs contested the Rugby Fives National Open Mixed Doubles Championship on the courts at the Cambridge University Sports Centre. After group matches were completed two tightly contested semi-finals were played, from which Shinan Zhang & Penn Chai emerged to play Camille Beattie & Theo Parker in the final, which Shinan & Penn won. Meanwhile a truncated Plate was contested, from which Martha Nugent & Patrick Harrison emerged victorious.

It is worthy of note that, this season, Shinan has done a Grand Slam of the Doubles championships, winning the Rugby Fives Women’s Doubles and the Winchester Fives Women’s Doubles, both with Helena Tunks, combined with the Rugby Fives Mixed Doubles and the Winchester Fives Mixed Doubles, both with Penn Chai.
