STOP PRESS Players from Durham University, the City of Durham Fives Club and the Edinburgh Academy came together for the 4th staging of this ranking women’s tournament, played at the University Fives courts. With a small entry and a range of ages it was possible as usual to run a number of separate Singles competitions on the first day to give all the competitors plenty of opportunity to progress, while the main draw proceeded to the expected final between Camille Beattie of the City of Durham Club and Rosa Ogilvie of the Edinburgh Academy. On the second day there was plenty of Doubles in the group stage, which then led to further medal matches. Several of these players will now go on next month to play in the Ladies’ U23 championships at St Paul’s School.
