EAC on top of latest standings in London League

London League, 9th January 2024

The Edward Alleyn Club is in pole position as the four teams in the revived London League enter 2024. The South London club sits ahead of its rivals, the Executioners, the UCS Old Boys and the Stoke Newington Swifts.

Inspired – and organised – by Shinan Zhang, the league sees home and away matches between the four clubs being played over a 12-month season. The encounters take the form of a standard four-a-side match, with singles and doubles matches counting towards an overall match score.

The 2023/24 season kicked off with a win for the Executioners over the UCS Old Boys, but since then, the Edward Alleyn Club (EAC) has won both its fixtures. The Dulwich team followed up a comprehensive win over the Swifts in October with a victory over the Executioners in November.

However, in the final match before Christmas, the Swifts got off the mark with a narrow 103-92 victory over the UCS Old Boys.

As a result, the EAC sits on top of the league with a 100% record, ahead of the Executioners and Swifts, each of whom has won one match.

Keep an eye on the RFA’s social media feeds for details of the subsequent matches as they happen – all of which will be recorded on the league’s dedicated page on this website.
