South East Open Championships, Christ’s Hospital, Horsham

Organiser Ed Hatton is now accepting entries for this year’s South East Open Championships, which will take place at Christ’s Hospital School over the final weekend of August.
As usual, the event will include singles and doubles tournaments, with the doubles tournament following the format of the President’s Cup and Scottish Open: players enter the event as individuals, then the organiser will draw the pairs according to seedings; the strongest players will play with the weakest, with mid-ranked players partnered together.
What’s different about this year’s championships is that both the singles and doubles championships will be played on the Saturday. Then, on the Sunday, a Challenger singles event will take place. This will be open only to players ranked outside the Top 16 in the official RFA rankings.
All entries to the championships must be received by e-mail by Monday August 22nd, and they must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate entry fees to the RFA’s bank account. For full details of this, and all aspects of the event, click here to download the information sheet.
