British Universities & Student Fives Championships

Cambridge/Oundle, 27/29th November 2015

The organisers of this year’s Universities and Student Championships have published the first information about the event.

The tournament will include both singles and doubles championships, and on the first day will be played over two venues. However, the event will conclude on the second and third using only the courts in Cambridge, and competitors are advised to book accommodation in or near the city. The organisers will arrange a minibus to and from Oundle on the Friday, if there is demand – and as long as they are asked sufficiently in advance.

The format will be as follows: on the first day, matches will played up to (but not including) the semi-finals in the main singles tournament and singles Plate; day two will include the singles semis and all the doubles up to the final; then, all four finals (main and Plate) will be played on the Sunday.

The official entry forms will be available by October 12th, and all entries must be received by November 5th, with the draws published a week later on the 12th.

Last, but not least, the organisers are trying encourage as many players as possible to compete, so are calling on players and schoolmasters to suggest former Fives players or Fives-playing friends at universities to contact in an attempt to persuade them to play.
