Northern Schools Championships
The Race Course, Durham
Saturday/Sunday 5-6 February 2022

Julie McIntyre reports: It was a Covid-hit competition for the second Northern Schools tournament, meaning a few players were missing, and Rossall were unable to compete this year.

However, there was still a strong showing from both Sedbergh School and the City of Durham Juniors, with some top quality matches on show.

Some of the Sedbergh U16 boys were just starting their Fives careers, but had picked it up quickly, and their standard of play was very impressive.

Both under 18 semi-finals were hard fought, close affairs, and the final went to three games between the two top seeds from the City of Durham Club.

Many thanks to all who helped, and to Sedbergh for two rather treacherous trips across the Pennines in as many days.
