STOP PRESS A small entry which nevertheless produced a full day’s play on Saturday, followed by a final on Sunday morning. Initially conducted in round robin format, the preliminary matches produced four semi-finalists vying for the trophy, and three remaining sides contesting the Plate. In the main competition a freshly formed Old Pauline IV defeated the defending champions, the West of England Club, who had been hoping for three in a row, while in the Plate, conducted as a three-team round robin, the meeting between the Executioners’ first IV and the club’s second IV decided the destiny of the medals.
