With just the one Women’s tournament since the end-of-season Rankings were published in July, those who entered  the Durham Ladies Championship in November have benefited substantially. Runner-up Rosa O. from the Edinburgh Academy rises to number 3 in the Singles rankings, while Durham players past and present Kirsten Bell and Lizzie Ware also make significant progress to position 7 and 12 respectively. Other young players from Scotland rise a number of places, 3 of them in the top 20.

Much the same applies in the Doubles, where tournament winners Camille Beattie and Imogen Wright rise to number 2 and 8 respectively, meaning that in both categories Camille now stands directly behind the undisputed Number One, National Champion Louise Mathias. 5 of the young Scots also make progress in the Top 20.

These rankings will be used for seeding the Ladies National Championships in Manchester on January 27-28. With the Ladies U23 Championships moved from December to March and entry qualification modified to Under 25, we shall see much more action in the world of Women’s Fives in the New Year.
