STOP PRESS Small is beautiful! Just 8 players entered this year, producing an enthralling tournament with close match after close match in Singles and Doubles. Defending Singles champion Ian Jackson had to content himself with the Singles Plate; Morgan Spillane, in his second appearance, this time won Singles Gold along with Doubles Silver. Newcomers Dave Fox and Sam Roberts won Doubles Gold, beating Morgan and his new partner Tony Hamilton in the final, with Dave ending as runner-up in the Singles. Stuart Kirby and Richard Christie won the Doubles Plate to add to their Veterans Plate of a fortnight ago, though Richard had the galling experience of beating both Singles finalists in the Round Robin but coming 4th on points. Put simply, everyone won at least one medal, except the valiant organiser Brian Kirk!
